Briar Cottage Moorings

Upper pound between locks 12 & 13
Lower pound between locks 13 & 14
Briar Cottage Moorings has been run by business partners Anne Nixon and Neil Ratcliffe since 1986, and is situated within the Lapworth flight of locks on the northern section of the Stratford-Upon-Avon Canal. We occupy the pounds between locks 12 and 14. We are on both the Avon and Warwickshire rings if you fancy a circular route, or for shorter trips you have the option of visiting either Stratford or Birmingham. Birmingham can be reached in a day and Stratford is about half a day longer, depending on the speed that you work locks. If you just want to go out for the day, then 6 or 7 locks down takes you to Kingswood Junction where you have access to an 8 mile stretch of the Grand Union Canal between the bottom of Knowle locks and the top of Hatton locks. As you have to cross the Boot Inn’s car park to reach our moorings, it means it is within easy reach for a drink or a meal.
